I was sooooo excited to wash my hair tonight. Ridiculously excited!

I had to mail a letter yesterday, so while I was at the drug store, I bought a Wet Brush detangler, a Goody wide tooth comb and a Wet Brush regular paddle detangler (that also came recommended for curly hair). PLUS  Herbal Essences curl defining sulfate free conditioner. I was pretty jazzed because the cashier knew what I was talking about when I told her I was giving the curly girl/guy method a try. It looks like next on my shopping list is a bonnet for sleeping or a satin pillow case since other materials can be hard on curly hair. My hair is too short to pineapple (put in a ponytail at the top). Yes, this method comes with all sorts of ridiculous word usage too :-D Hah! I cannot believe curls are happening. It's weird and exciting to find out at this age that your body can still surprise you in a good way ;-D

I put a few dozen drops of Baby Oil in my hair this morning in hopes of silky hair. A colleague was toying with the idea of using Baby Oil on some horse manes since there is no budget for Mane Detangler and I thought that sounded like a plan, for my hair. I used to buy Herbal Essence shampoo in the 70's. Now I'm trying TRESemmé. There are at least a dozen varieties. One bottle gave me silky hair... I'm trying to figure out which one it was. It's a very slow project.

TRESemmé also comes recommended in curly hair forums. I didn't know Herbal Essences had such a long lineage--I just remember the hilarious 90s commercials :-D

Let us know how that works out for you. I had a horrible experience with that as a kid. My brush must've been super cheap, because it detached from the handle where it ended up knotted in my hair.

Ack! That does indeed sound like a painfully cheap brush. I remember a lot of them being painful too--I think it was just an adult brushing me too hard.

I will make another post, but I really like the Wet Brush detangler.

I'm glad it's working out!

I have a wet brush, but it's an open vent design and the bristles are attached directly to the unibody of the brush. Can't take a chance on the original design (PTSD and all that :P).
