If there's nothing I love better than a bargain book, it's a bargain art or cook book! I found this interesting book for $5 at Chapters today. The idea behind a low glycemic index diet is that it can help manage certain diseases as well as encourage weight loss. I didn't buy this book necessarily for that reason, there's some really intriguing and exotic recipes like beet tabbouleh, vegetable korma and apple ginger cake bars. Especially intriguing is that the table of contents doesn't reflect the rest of the book - maybe that's why it was in the bargain bin. It looks like a printing mishap, which is a shame. I'll never get to see what low GI desserts I could have made!
