This Old House
Apr. 7th, 2021 08:29 amWe had a terrific wind storm last Thursday. By terrific, I meant the house trembled, the bird feeder looped round and round until it unhooked itself and two downspout extensions are probably in a ditch somewhere on the way to Airdrie.
We went out for dinner and when we returned, hubs asked me where our doormat was. Hah! It turned out to be four doors down.
This wind storm proved to pricey. I went out and bought a wooden barn bird feeder ($50--if that blows away, I'll be surprised!). I called Gutter Doctor to replace the missing pipes. That was $50 each, plus $100 to clean the gutters. It was nice to get it all done at once even if we could have saved some $$$ on the downspout extension at Home Depot. Gutter Doctor has all the tools and it's an investment in the local economy. The extensions are now attached with bolts, so they won't be going anywhere, fingers crossed!
