It's here! Two weeks after it shipped (so much for "priority shipping" - $29), my wheel arrived on Thursday. Actually it arrived on Wednesday, but Canada Post gave me the wrong parcel slot key. We don't get door to door mail delivery, but pick up mail in super mailboxes.
Ponoko sends all its laser cutting flat packed, like so. Local laser cutting places have been ignoring my emails, so it seems like Ponoko it is. I'm too small an order, I guess. Next time I will figure out how to make a pound of material and get my $29 worth :-)

You literally get a piece of plastic and have to punch out or peel all the pieces off the backing sheet. I added a horse design I made in class. I really could have used the whole sheet of plastic better, but I didn't have a variety of things planned at the time, I was so focused on the wheel. The two versions are 100 mm and 101 mm wide.

I was pretty excited that the wheels matched! The teeth on mine are pointier though.

And now to test it out! All the shapes work, some better than others. I'm surprised that the wave works so well. The large heart is a little too pointy though. The Klutz wheels are also a smidge under 2mm thick. Ponoko is extremely precise. A bit of cardstock under the corners of the drawing frame and going slowly help though! It's so exciting to make drawings that are uniquely mine with something one of a kind. Either size wheel works well - the drawing frame has a lot of tolerance.
