New Pony Line and Cartoon

Not sure what to think or say, so I'll just leave a screengrab here :-) Apparently the new cartoon is called Pony Life.

I understand that things needs to be kept fresh in the toy world and if you stop moving, the toy line dies...but...this feels like a remake no one asked for!

The cartoon should show up in early 2020. I'm waiting for a proper promo clip for Pony Life before I do more than mention it in passing on ponyville_trot. So far I know it involves hanging out at Sugarcube Corner (where everypony knows your name) and potions. Equestria Girls has had a revamp of the doll line as well, so that cartoon might have a revival of sorts too.

I long suspected that Gen 3.5 was an aborted attempt to fold MLP into the then popular Pet Shop line. Pet Shop might either be dead or in suspended animation (hahaha) but Pony Life looks like Hasbro taking another crack at turning ponies into Pet Shop wannabes.

To paraphrase one witty comment I read today about this EqG/MLP resurrection, on the monkey's paw, another digit slowly curls inward.

Oh good, you're always in the know :-) I have been waiting for season 9 to hit Netflix so I can binge it.

I like your theory about MLP and LPS. I can see the similarities now that you mention it. It's not coincidence that Hasbro makes Blythe dolls and Blythe Baxter happens to be in LPS :-) I can totally see where they would merge the toy lines. I hate to pre-judge things, but I'll wait and see too. A lot of MLP collectors on FB like the large size pony brushables.
