Loom Knit Blanket
Apr. 30th, 2022 03:24 pmI'm trying to clean up all the horizontal surfaces now that school is over and one thing that was easy to finish up was this lap blanket made from an entire ball of James C. Brett chunky yarn. I bought it online and thought the colour was interesting...not so much in real life. So it's been washed and dried and will go towards a group that makes hats and blankets for low-income and needy folks.
I can't remember how I did this--I want to say I knit seven rows, skipped a row and repeated...but I honestly can't remember!

Date: 2022-05-01 02:27 am (UTC)I've taken up loom knitting a bit. I experimented first on wrist gauntlets for the kiddos, using a knitting spool, then made 2 pairs of fingerless gloves, with another pair to make once I can find some blue yarn. I know I have some somewhere, I just need to unpack it, and I'm trying to NOT buy any more crafting things until I know what I have.
I'm trying to find loom patterns that aren't scarves; we don't have as much need for those here in SF. I did just find a cute pattern for convertible mittens that I may make for my GF in Wisconsin.

Date: 2022-05-01 04:09 am (UTC)Welcome to loom knitting club! It's so easy and fun. I imagine in a couple of years the kids might like trying it too.
Hehehe, yes, I'm trying not to buy more yarn too. I had to really be firm with myself this semester and my projects were more interesting when I raided the stash, IMHO.

It was hard to tell from the picture what it would turn out like and when it arrived, I thought it would be more blue with random colour specks. I'm sure someone will love it :-)
