I bought a punch needle kit on sale from a most unusual place--a drug store! The kit is by Kikkerland, purveyor of quirky goods and crafts. It was the perfect thing to take on vacation. I made some mistakes, had trouble telling the front from the back, but overall I would try it again! It was a few hours worth of fun considering I paid $9.99 for the kit. It was just the perfect take a long for my recent trip too.

That's a very pretty craft. It's a bit like ribbon embroidery in terms of its different depths and textures. The usual floss embroidery doesn't go in for knots and deep shag.

Oh gosh, I remember when ribbon embroidery was hot :-D I was always tempted to try it.

We went to a historic fest recently that had a lady doing silk-ribbon embroidery. Very pretty. She was making sheep with French knots. O.O Soo much time.
