Windows 11, noooooo

calzephyrHubs built me a new computer over the holiday break and whether I liked it or not, had to upgrade to Windows 11.
I like teasing hubs about getting a MacBook Pro since that's what I use at work, but, ahem, and I quote "We are not an Apple household" :-D
Anyway, the new computer has a smaller footprint on my desk and hubs scored a deal on a new monitor too.
Given how painful my last computer upgrade was in 2019, I wisely installed all my programs first while the new computer was on his workbench. There was much running upstairs and downstairs to get serial numbers and passwords as not everything was automagically saved.
Windows 11 is okay, but it's the little things that are aggravating, of course. I won't go into them here since I just have to learn it. Definitely a time when I wish I had a nearby 12 year old to holler "How do I do this???" at :-D
Surprisingly, LJ Archive works on Windows 11 along with my older version of CorelDraw. The only thing I couldn't install was the upgrade for Adobe Lightroom 6 Classic. I bought the last standalone version available, but of course it's no longer supported and I don't want to buy a subscription to use software already paid for. Maybe I'm old-fashioned that way! The installer says my software is counterfeit. Apparently it's a common problem with Adobe software, so I'll just stick with version 5.7 until I have time to troubleshoot. There are Lightroom clones out there, and Corel does publish AfterShot, but, argh, like PhotoShop, Lightroom is just industry standard and other programs don't quite do what they do!
