Oct. 11th, 2006 02:51 amI always feel bad when charities come to the door selling those $25 calendars with coupons, mostly because I have canvassed for the Kidney Foundation and know the sting of rejection. If they just had a brochure that I could add to the pile in the junk drawer, that would be much spiffier (I'm trying to work through the pile by giving $25 every month to whichever one I pick out). There are two or three charities that have calendars, so once you've bought one, you kind of don't need another. The coupons are always for something we'll never use or do too. I didn't have any dineros on me, and I didn't want to write a check either. I used my bead money to make an online donation. Unfortunately the canvasser will never know.
