Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Dec. 1st, 2007 08:40 pmI cracked this one open earlier in November and just finished it last night - it seemed the better choice to wind down with as I certainly wasn't going to be able to tap out over 12000 words to finish NaNoWriMo. This one didn't grab me as much as the other three, but I think it was because of its sheer size and the formula that JK Rowling uses is pretty down pat by this volume. I sure loved Pigwidgeon - he sounds like a budgie in owl clothing. I thought the ending would be pretty predictable by the time of the third task in the Triwizard Cup, but again, like an Agatha Christie novel, everything is unravelled only to be wrapped up neatly at the end. Here's to book 5!
