Mystery Bird at Waterton Lake
Jul. 9th, 2010 07:04 amMy mom spotted this bird in the Waterton townsite, but I'm not sure what kind of bird it is. It was quite happily plucking the dandelions though! It's so well camouflaged.
I don't think it was the same as the itty bitty finches we saw elsewhere in the park. They were so, so tiny! In addition to crows and magpies, we also saw a pair of swans flying (that picture didn't turn out so well), and a dusky or blue grouse (the internet doesn't seem very definitive on which it is).
