Fungus Gnats, Grrrreat!
Feb. 10th, 2014 08:12 pmOur house gets East-West sun, and it seems with the furnace working overtime and a lot of warmth from sunny days, we have these guys.
TBH, I'm glad, because I was actually afraid that perhaps wasps from last summer had invaded our house (they made a nest under the wood trim outside). I actually thought I was seeing baby wasps. I squashed a few and a homemade fly trap with a water bottle has also claimed a few, plus the sticky strips in the plants. Bleh! I can only guess they came in with the strawberry plant or something else. The exterminator we used recommended BioGen, but we'll see how the other stuff works first - I hate having to use anything around the birds.
