Death from above!
Jun. 17th, 2018 07:30 amCrows have nested on our street for some time, but this is the first time that they have been aggressive. It may be more than one pair of crows too! They have been swooping by the front and back of the house, and it's fair to say that they know where I live!
Last weekend I was resting on the front step after a bike ride and a crow gave a lady and her dog heck from his lofty perch on a lamppost. I thought it was funny at the time, but then someone posted about being attacked by a crow on the community FB page. Yikes!
I half wonder if the crow in question is the juvenile that I saw a couple of years ago chasing gulls. What a jerk :D
A few days ago I was taking out the composting when I saw my neighbour standing in the middle of the street holding her head and looking so confused. As she was a senior, I went to check on her and from what we could determine, the crow had hit her on the head since there wasn't anything else to explain it - no kids throwing balls or what have you.
Yesterday morning I had my own encounter with a crow. I was walking by the playing field, spotted the crow and figured I was safe. The crow took off and I didn't think much of it until I was a block away. My goodness folks, it was like an avian fighter jet went over my head! Woooomph! S/he may as well left streaks. They landed on the lamppost outside my house, and suffice to say, I will be taking the long way around from now on. Not even my own cockatiel buzzes my head with that much force.
