Amazing Animal Video

It's almost a shame that this wasn't filmed by a wildlife crew with a better camera. I can just picture David Attenborough or Peter Graves narrating it :-)

Water buffalo versus lions versus crocodiles. And don't worry, it has a happy ending (I'm hoping, anyway :-) Things just get worse before they get better.

And while you're at it, check out a typical moment for Jill. He flew up on the camera twice while I was filming. I wish there was sound :-)

Oh my gosh that video is amazing!! I hope the calf was alright.

When I went to Kenya, the Africans all said the buffalo were the most dangerous animal in the bush. They werent wrong, when we came across a heard, they did not move away they stood and stared at us, all squared off. Totally fearless.

I hope the calf made it all right too. I imagine that if lions and crocs couldn't kill it, it must be made of some pretty tough stuff! I wonder if the lions were inexperienced at killing - I always thought they went for the throat and suffocated their victim.

I like how they came back for him. It just kind of got me in the heart - that even though it seemed like it was doomed, he was worth the whole herd coming back. I imagine that the buffalo doesn't have much to be afraid of, especially when they're in a group like that!
