Now that is a good question...
Jun. 28th, 2009 07:59 pmand my question is...why can't I find an affordable wallet size paper punch? I have round ones and square ones of all dimensions, but the only rectangular one I have is maybe about 1 1/8 x 2 1/2", woefully small for my magnets, which are about 2 1/2" x 3". I can find heavy duty punches for cutting ID photos on eBay - they start at about $40US (that one has $30 shipping to Canada) to over $2000US for a fancy pants model that can cut 2.5x3.5" playing cards.
It seems to me that a wallet size would be a popular size for crafting. I found a Canadian supplier of handheld ID punches, but I'll have to see what their prices are like as they were not listed on the website. Maybe I'll just have to buy a pricey one - it would certainly beat cutting the photos out by hand. Not all of the photos I have are suitable for round or square shapes.
I have the rectangle dies from Spellbinders, but I found that they don't cut as crisply through photographs as I hoped. It could be because I'm using them with a Sizzix machine, but it cuts cardstock just fine.
