Breaking Dawn, Part 2

mfiles last night, and that movie was none other than Breaking Dawn Part 2. I think they are some of the messed up and most awful franchise movies ever made. I always end up laughing and when I do, I think
1) Am I laughing because it's so bad it's good?
2) Am I laughing because it's so bad that it's bad? And...
3) Aw man, my laughing is ruining this experience for some teenage girl.
I ended up sniggering a lot under my scarf like some sort of pervert, right from the get go. There is something hysterically funny about Kristen Stewart in a spotless cocktail dress perched on a rock as she sniffs for prey as a new born vampire.
I wish I had re-watched the previous movie to remember if the wooshing sounds the vampires make when they run where so prevalent. There's something absolutely distracting about the constant woosh woosh here. At least everything wasn't in sparkle vision :D
Then, when they discover the cottage that will be their home, I had another giggle fit. It was as if Thomas Kinkade had done some guerrilla cottage building in the night.
A whole lot of nothing happens until the big showdown that everyone knows is coming. Instigated by Irina's accusations that Renesmee is a turned child, the Volturi descend on Forks. That's when the big OMG twist happens. My jaw dropped in shock as Carlisle's head gets ripped off his body. It's a no holds barred vampire smackdown, that turns out to be a vision that Alice passes to Arro. Great! Oldest trope in the book.
Mfiles and I breathed a huge sigh of relief and flopped on each other. For about 15 minutes there it seemed like everyone lost their minds!
I'm glad I did see the movie, it was enjoyable in ways the producers never expected. There's just such a chunk of something missing from these movies that would make them seem like real movies and not a bunch of scenes strung together. I never actually get the feeling that Edward and Bella love each other for some bizarre reason. Oh well, in twenty years they'll remake the series and make it better anyhow. One can hope!
