Yes, I do too! It's cleaner and less seedy than the ones in NY I remember - though I think the new Luna Park is cleaned up - though it's still really old. I love the arcade too and the tourist trap stores and the restaurants on the pier.
I have not been to Santa Monica. I haven't been that south for a long time though I am considering moving to LA.
We liked Santa Monica and marvelled at the mall with the outdoor escalator. Such a thing you will not find in Canada! Venice was nice, and although we went to the beach, we seem to have missed Muscle Beach completely.
Oooh, Luna Park has a carousel :-D We really want to visit the East coast some day.
I have been to Venice Beach and while I really liked it, I don't remember anything special about it other than it had a boardwalk that I think was just an asphalt path and it's on TV a lot? I must have missed the musclemen and rollerskaters. I did like the area too.
