Perler Pony!

taeha is responsible for this :-D I remember seeing Perler beads way back when I worked at Lewiscraft as a teenager. It never really caught my attention because it was always relegated to the colourful aisle of kids crafts. Mind you, the pegboards weren't too interesting and neither was the packaging. It's like, ooh, a heart! ooh, a rainbow hexagon! They made it look seriously unexciting!

Anyway, this fabulous Flickr gallery proves what amazing things can be done with them. I'm very impressed. When I went to Michael's today, I stopped by the kids aisle and found a kit with a pony on the front just to try it out. I could see doing more like this. It was pretty easy, although I had to find an adult (my husband) to do the ironing. At 29, I don't know how to use an iron :-D

I can see making more ponies...I love cross-stitch with all my heart, but for the life of me, I just can't complete a project for some reason. I think this would be a good idea to use some of my designs with.
