More bookage...
Aug. 19th, 2007 09:02 amI have the second Harry Potter book in my hands and I'm looking forward to it! After I finished the first one, it reminded me in some ways of Enid Blyton's books...ooo...it's been so long since I read one of those! The "meddling kids" genre has such appeal!
Oh, speaking of that, my brother and I had a strange childhood addiction to educational programming, especially those from TVOntario. He has a real knack for finding them on YouTube. Someone uploaded a series called Read All About It and it's still enjoyable as an adult. I'm surprised by how creepy it is too - but the series was well written and very suspenseful! I hope he uploads season 2. I remember that one better than season 1.
I also picked up a YA book I have been meaning to read forever, Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell. And I found two volumes of Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series. I haven't read this since junior high! I'll have to go back to the used bookstore and see what other treasures they have.
