The Dragon Prince
Apr. 5th, 2020 04:50 pmUsually I wait until I have watched the entire series before writing a review, but each season of The Dragon Prince has gotten better and better, so I don't think the rest of the series will disappoint.
It's a sweet fantasy story about the growing friendship between two human princes and an elf girl in a time when the two races have been divided by the strife of the previous generation. The first series might seem a little bland, a little boilerplate--but one soon realizes that the show spends a lot of time establishing characters and settings because it's necessary. Since it's a fantasy show, there are going to be a lot of characters, natch!
The character and world designs, plus rotoscope style animation is really pleasing. I love the fact that the horse movements are accurate ;-) The story gets bonus points for a diverse cast.
You really come to know this world and its people and their feelings. It's one of those rare shows that makes you feel like you're reading a good book. That's how engrossing it is. The season cliffhangers were brutal and I can't wait to see how the next series begins.
