I'm a Knifty Knitter!
Dec. 27th, 2006 02:00 pmWe went to Michael's for Boxing Day (50% off coupon, woo!) and I finally bought a Knifty Knitter round loom set. They always have them on sale, and I decided that for $12.99, I couldn't go wrong. I always thought it would be too hard and it would end up in the pile of forsaken craft projects ;-) I had something like this when I was a kid, it was a fashion doll dress maker, but the instructions were vague and it didn't have a handy pick to pull the loops over with.
In a couple of hours, I had a hat! It's a tad small though, so I'm making another one with the larger circle. I'm so proud of myself - I love textiles so much, but my lack of skill has always made them off limits. Now I can make all the sparkly Eye Lash and Fun Fur hats I want :-D

Date: 2006-12-29 08:10 am (UTC)I used the blue (smallest) loom to make my scarf - it's just a giant double sided tube. There's a pattern for fingerless gloves on their website, but mitts would be cooler :-D
